Mater. Exceptional People. Exceptional Care.

New Chief Financial Officer appointed

In July 2009 Chris Perkins was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mater Health Services.

As CFO, Mr Perkins is responsible for the financial activities of Mater Health Services and he plays an integral role in the financial stewardship of the organisation. He also provides a strategic, commercial approach to the future development of Mater.

He brings more than 17 years experience in the financial services industry to the role – experience which, along with making him a finance-wiz, has honed his tactical management and leadership skills.

Upon his appointment, Mr Perkins said he was honoured to be working in the “vital” role.

“Effective financial stewardship is crucial to ensuring the sustainability of Mater Health Services and the continuation of the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy,” he said.

Mr Perkins joined Mater in February 2006 as the Director of Decision Support. In this role he provided strategic and financial advice to the organisation and was pivotal in the development and implementation of improved budgeting and reporting systems.

Prior to joining Mater, Mr Perkins held a variety of corporate accounting and support roles including Business Manager (Queensland Regional Service) and Commercial Development Manager with national telecommunications provider, Telstra.

Mr Perkins holds an undergraduate degree in business majoring in accounting and marketing, a Master of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.
